Eligibility

 

  1. This amazing journey with mentoring from industry professionals is £35 to join. There are additional payments required for performing at the Music for Youth National Festival and Prom, which are detailed on the FAQ section of our website. MFY is a registered charity and everything we raise goes towards supporting young people from all backgrounds across the UK to take part in our programme. 
  2. We encourage music hub groups, school groups, music organisations to apply; each group applying needs to be aged 14-25. If you are ages 14-18 you need to apply with an adult consenting your participation, who will also need to attend the events with you as a chaperone.
  3. If you have already submitted a mentor connects video, and would like that entry to be considered for this opportunity, please email frequencies@mfy.org.uk
  4. All applicants music be available to perform at our National Festival on Friday 11th July, and Prom on either Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th November 2025.
  5. Entry is for permanent residents of the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales)
  6. Music for Youth and Frequencies reserves the right to refuse or decline an artist or band at its discretion.
  7. To enter, you must submit a video and audio presentation of your music in a detailed manner. We must be able to gain access to all links and audio files.
  8. All applicants are liable for their own transport, accommodation or expenses incurred when submitting or participating in the Frequencies Next Wave Showcase and further, associated events.
  9. All music must be clean, no swearing, profanity or explicit language will be allowed. If music does contain any of the above, acts must change or blur out those sections.
  10. Please note, If you are invited to perform live, all performers will be asked to disclose any cautions or convictions, either spent or unspent.
