MUSIC FOR YOUTH PROMS 2024 - CREATIVE PROJECT

YOUR CHANCE TO PERFORM

THE 2024 CREATIVE PROJECT IS NOW SOLD OUT

Be part of our largest ever Creative Project at the Royal Albert Hall, showcasing the brilliance of over 1000 young musicians from across the UK.

Wednesday 27 November and Thursday 28 November!

THIS YEAR'S CREATIVE PROJECT IS NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS AS ALL THE SEATS ARE FULLY BOOKED

Experience the electric atmosphere of performing at the Royal Albert Hall alongside over 1500 other singers and instrumentalists, by being part of a special creative collaboration between Music for Youth, BBC Ten Pieces, ABRSM and the Royal Albert Hall.

Open to musicians of all abilities, at the heart of this year’s Music for Youth Proms is a special new piece by composer Cassie Kinoshi, titled ‘the colour of all things constant’. The piece is commissioned in partnership with BBC, ABRSM and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Ten Pieces project. With words by poet Belinda Zhawi, the commission focuses on the powerful and timely theme of kindness and is one of several works from the much-loved BBC Ten Pieces list to be performed during the Proms. You will also have the chance to play in the opening and finale of the Music for Youth Proms 2024.

If you have a group of young musicians you want to excite and inspire, this will be a day out to remember!

How does it work?

It is easy to sign up and be part of the Music for Youth Creative Project 2024, featuring BBC Ten Pieces:

  1. Complete the sign-up form - detailing the numbers and instrumental make-up of your group. This will help us know where to seat you within the Royal Albert Hall (please note that because of the performance area allocated to the Creative Project, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate amplified instruments, pianos or keyboards, any extremely large instruments which require seats such as Harps, only handheld percussion can be accommodated).
  2. Make the payment - details below
  3. Receive your private link to the Creative Project participant page – which includes all key information (including how to book audience tickets and an early bird discount code), and links and downloads for music you need to learn
  4. Download your music – we have provided mixed ability parts for you to self-select, based on your individual group, to make sure every young musician gets the most from the experience
  5. Rehearse – base your rehearsals and music lessons around learning the music provided. You even have the chance to attend CPD sessions with the conductor and arranger herself – Sarah Freestone (of the BBC Concert Orchestra)
  6. Perform at the Music for Youth Proms 2024 at the Royal Albert Hall

Don’t forget to book your transport nice and early!

How Much Does It Cost?

For only £5 per ticket, your young people will have the experience of a lifetime, perform in one of the most iconic music venues, develop their musical skill, and have the chance to watch and participate in exceptional performances with musicians from across the whole of the UK.

After signing up, an invoice for the number of tickets you have requested, will be sent to your email address. Once this payment has been processed, you will receive a private link to your Creative Project Participant Page.

Every young person and adult must have an allocated ticket.

As a charity ourselves, we understand that it can sometimes be challenging to cover the costs of participating in or travelling to events, so here are a few ideas that might help to raise funds: https://mfy.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising-ideas/

There is a small subsidy available to help with the ticket price, for those who are in genuine need of support. Please do get in touch with the team by emailing programmes@mfy.org.uk
